With the current situation in 2016 concerning travel to and from the Red Sea area I wonder if divers are still going there?
Would you travel there with the threat of bombers and terrorists? I might, but would I?
I have a friend who has made the journey and arrived safely to Hurghada and returned. She did indeed have a wonderful time. Not least because she has never been before but also because I know ‘the Brothers’ is a fabulous dive site and her live-aboard boat trip included photography tuition which she loved. There will probably be a continued threat until the world changes. But l would go back there and dive again, the sooner the better! Sea temperatures can be quite low so if you like warm water wait until the hotter summer months and into October to go.
Roots Camp which is about 2 hours drive south of Hurghada can offer very reasonable accommodation close to the shore where the diving is excellent. Reefs are healthy and there is a lot of marine life. The reef close by are also a must see. I would recommend this dive spot and you can travel there on a package with Scuba Travel.
